On June 1, 2022, the International Medical University hosted a meeting of library directors and librarians of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The purpose of the event: exchange of experience in the field of automation and digitalization of the library. Solutions for modernization of library and bibliographic processes of libraries of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Rector of the IMU Bolot Bektashevich Maikanaev opened the meeting with a welcoming speech. He noted the importance of information and educational resources in the development of science and education. He emphasized the importance of qualified specialists-librarians in applying innovative technologies and digital transformation in the activities of libraries.
The Director of the IMU Library, Gulmira Abdyrakovna Turusbaeva, presented the library website developed based on the J-IRBIS 2.0 System architecture. She gave a detailed introduction to the collections of electronic resources of her generation, search systems of the site, functions of the user's "Personal account," remote booking, ordering of documents, and other services and features of the site. She demonstrated the technology of integrating collections of external resources into the library's base and seamless authorization technology with remote external digital library systems. The Director of the Scientific Library of Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabaev, founder of the Higher School of Librarians, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, and Associate Professor Nurilya Aitbayevna Davletiyarova highly appreciated the development of our university and library and wished us further success.
Within the framework of the event, the participants were given a complete tour of the IMU library's departments and the ERC of EIMU, where the participants could see the technology of library automation using the IRBIS 64+ System.

Our library welcomed guests from the Bishkek Humanities University named after K. Karasaev, particularly the Director of the Research Library, Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences - Turdukeeva Roza Ahmatovna, the Director of the Center for Digital Development, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, associate professor - Esharov Elzarbek Asanovich, lead specialist of the Research Library - Kurmanalieva Kenzhe and IT-specialist - Kadyrov Ruslan.
The guests were given a tour around the libraries of IMU and the ERC of EIMU. The ERC staff demonstrated the IRBIS system and the technology of automated workstations for librarians. They presented the electronic library, databases, the process of computerized book loan based on the radio identification tag of documents, remote booking and ordering of literature, the technology of electronic user form, etc.

Parents of students and guests learned all the most important and interesting things about studying at the University at the Open Day, which was held on March 30-31, 2021.
